Lynsey Addario

  It's What I Do: A Photographer's Life of Love and War chronicles the life of Lynsey Addario and her journey to becoming the well known and celebrated photojournalist she is today. In her memoir she describes what it was like to break into the male dominated field of conflict photography.  In chapter nine of the book, Addario writes about her time photographing American soldiers in an active combat area in the Korengal Valley in late 2007. In this section she tells the story of being ambushed while with the soldiers and what it was like when a soldier Staff Sgt. Larry Rougle was killed in action. She details the scene and what was going through her head while she was somehow able to do her job and capture the moments after Rougle had been killed. “I raised my camera in a gesture to ask permission to photograph.   Sharon Carter Vice President of the Rainy Day Blues Society at the Albany acoustic jam at Deluxe Brewing Company in downtown Albany on Monday Nov. 13.  Monday Albany Acoustic Jam is organized by the Rainy Day Blues Society and hosted by Deluxe Brewing Company in downtown Albany. Local musicians get together for a jam session every Monday night open to all. Deluxe Brewing company on Water Avenue in downtown Albany
